Do you know why people love hygge life? Actually, people are obsessed with hygge because, according to them, hygge life is a more peaceful life. Hygge Means creating the warmest and enjoyable environment where you can have all the beautiful moments with your friends and family. The Warm and cosy glow emerging from candlelight is hygge. Staying awake in a lovely ambience to watch a movie with your loved one is a hygge too. And there can’t be anything more hygge than sitting peacefully with your friends and Family discussing your favourite topic and details about your happiest moments. A report of world happiness 2016 states that Denmark people are known as the world's most optimistic people because of hygge life.

Origin of hygge

The origin of hygge is in the Old Norwegian language instead of the Danish language. In this language, it meant "wellbeing". For the first time, it appeared in 18 century late. The best part of hygge is that it can be applied everywhere.

How to practice hygge?

Hygge is all about cosiness and good warm vibes so you can surround yourself with the things that make your life a little more beautiful, as well as good things like warmth, light, your favourite fruits and diets. Do you want to learn how to practice hygge? Let me tell you how you can perfectly practice hygge. Here are few ways mentioned below

1. Light up candles

One of the easiest ways to practice hygge is to "candle everywhere. Danish love their candles, and Danish house contains hundred tons of handles every year. This is because candles warm up the house and give ambience to any space. Scented candles are preferred because they provide fragrance and relax the mind.

2. Long-wear

Wear long wear to feel most hyggelig a sock, sweater or leggings are enough. And it suggests a pair of pants which is one's favourite but is afraid to wear in public. This seems like a perfect dream. Doesn't it? I spent this weekend in my favourite leggings, a warm sweater, a top knot but no hesitation or shame.

All of these topics along with much more are covered in my audiobook, "Minimalism & Hygge", which has already been heard by over 5000 people and with 187 positive reviews.

You can listen to it for free by clicking here, with the audible free trial.

3. Break from unhealthy food

It is considered that high consumption of meat, cake and coffee is directly related to hygge. hygge means taking a break from an unhealthy diet but doing baking, taking time to savour and enjoying the whole process

4. Netflix and chill

Cuddling up with watching a movie or a season is so hygge. It becomes better if you are having popcorn and a blanket too. A walk, some books, old games are also hygge. It is also hygge to pet a cat. Moreover, it makes you more relaxed and stress-free. According to Wiking, it is a hyggekrog which means nook. So I made a corner in my home to read the book, have a cup of tea,

5. Interior design

According to Wiking, "Danes are in love with the beautiful interior design because they think homes are our hygge headquarters". The one thing which is mandatory in every hygge home? It is a hyggekrog where you can enjoy reading a newspaper and a coffee cup. You can also beautify your hygge by keeping some candles, a beautiful sight of nature etc. Wiking says, "Danes want it to bring the whole forest inside like leaves, animals skin and twigs etc.” Holding a ceramic cup or touching a wooden table is a whole new kind of thing.

6. Start a new tradition with special people in your life.

The major portion of the hygge concept is togetherness. Do a hygge activity to involve your whole family and spend time with them like arranging a game night, renting a cabin or going on a trip. By doing such activities, you will bind people together. Hygge means making memories, and they will share quality time and Danes plan about hygge times.

7. Practice Gratitude

When the temperature goes down, and it becomes all cold and cosy, then a hot meal and steaming shower is a must in this case. Start writing down the things which made you happy during the day. It is suitable for mental health.

8. Create an Oasis inside Your Home

You should make an oasis inside your living space where you can spend your resting hours and relax and meditate after some hectic hours. This particular area of yours must have a window seat as well, and it should have some lovely cosy pillows and have some time to read your favourite books. This area must be peaceful to give you all cosy vibes.
